HOME STUDY AND REPORT SERVICES
If you are planning on fostering or adopting a child in Texas, a home study assessment is required, regardless of the type of adoption you pursue.
What is an Adoption Home Study?
A home study is a review of an adoptive/foster family’s home, lifestyle, and child-care readiness. It is required in every form of adoption or foster care situation (including domestic infant adoption and foster care adoption) to ensure that any placement is in the best interest of the child. While the home study can sometimes feel invasive to adoptive/ foster families, it is important to be completely open and honest during this process.
Endeavors’ Home Study and Report Services
Home study services in Texas are provided by social workers licensed by the state. When selecting a Texas home study provider, it’s important to use someone who has the experience and knowledge to write a report that meets all state and federal requirements.
The responsibility of placing a child falls on the Texas Department of Family Protective Services, who supervises and ensures that those contracted to perform home studies provide careful and thorough assessments of personal characteristics and home environments. These studies must prove that foster parents and other substitute caregivers are capable of providing safe, nurturing homes that are in the best interests of the children in out-of-home care.
As Texas home study contractors, our experienced, licensed, and highly-qualified professionals are prepared to deliver timely, high-quality home study reports that can be used for domestic adoptions or foster care decisions. We currently provide home study services for adoptive/foster families in San Antonio, Houston, El Paso, Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, and surrounding areas.
As a current experienced DFPS contract holder in four Texas regions, we have extensive experience providing home studies and have developed a strong reputation for providing best-practice standards in delivering excellent assessments.
Since 2015, we have submitted over 20,000 home studies and reports in 65 Texas counties. Achieving high levels of satisfaction from both the Department of Family and Protective Services and families served, we are proud to have earned a 98% satisfaction rate based on satisfaction survey submissions.
