Where We're From
More than 55 years ago, a group of San Antonians began serving their unhoused neighbors from the basement of a church, guided by a simple belief: we are called to care for others as we would want to be cared for ourselves. That faith-centered commitment has grown Endeavors from a grassroots effort into a national nonprofit serving communities across the continental United States, Hawai'i, and Puerto Rico with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Endeavors will not enter into or maintain relationships that are conditioned—either explicitly or implicitly—on the expectation that the individuals we serve adopt, follow, or convert to a particular religion. Likewise, while providing services, Endeavors does not permit or endorse messaging intended to persuade those we serve to convert to or embrace any specific faith tradition.
