WHO WE ARE

We’ve created the Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center to provide a multitude of wellness services for Veterans because creating and maintaining healthy habits after leaving the military can be hard for Veterans. From mental health to physical health to holistic health, this center will offer Veterans many services that will help them improve their quality of life, as well as the quality of life for their families, military dependents, and the care community.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

Our Behavioral Health programs and professionals provide services that help people live their very best lives. From peer support programs to intensive case management to counseling to substance use treatment and recovery, our fully licensed providers: prescribers, counselors, social workers, case managers, and peer support specialists are here to listen and provide a bridge to healing.

WELLNESS

We value the holistic approach to wellness. Therefore, our wellness services are comprehensive. Our Endeavors Wellness Model supports six principles represented in our space. We provide a connectedness area where community members can gather and get to know one another, rest, and unite; meeting rooms where various groups and organizations can host meetings; a woman-Veteran-owned cafe with coffee and snacks; and a Wellness Room for solace and recovery.

FITNESS CENTER

Our state-of-the-art fitness center is functional and adaptive. Members enjoy accessible cardio and suspension-training equipment, personalized wellness training, and group classes like Lunch Crunch and Yoga. We also offer individual fitness plans and health-coaching via our Endeavors Wellness App for those who are looking to reach their fitness goals.

BOARD ROOMS

If you’re interested in hosting a meeting with a large group, reserve one of our board rooms! Our Cohen Clinic Board Room and Endeavors Board Room spaces are clean, quiet, and functional for groups of up to 25 (with seats for 12) or 20 (with seats for 10) respectively. Reserve your room for blocks of two, four, or eight hours. Please email us for pricing inquiries at [email protected]. Please note our hours when requesting reservations.

MEETING ROOMS

For larger gatherings, reserve our Community Room. Located on our first floor near the entrance, our Community Room can be reserved in its entirety or in halves. The maximum capacity for side A or B is 75, while the entire Community Room holds 150 people. Our meeting rooms are available for reservation here.

Mark Riddick is the Sr. Director of Integrated Health Services at Endeavors. He is responsible for planning, program implementation, and compliance within the Behavioral Health line of service, including the oversight of our Veteran Wellness Centers.

Mark Riddick is the Sr. Director of Integrated Health Services at Endeavors. He is responsible for planning, program implementation, and compliance within the Behavioral Health line of service, including the oversight of our Veteran Wellness Centers.

A 21-year Veteran of the United States Army, Mark rose to the highest enlisted rank of Command Sergeant Major. He deployed in support of Operations Joint Guardian, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom.

Mark holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of the Incarnate Word, a certification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

DR. JILL PALMER
Corporate Behavioral Health Officer

Dr. Jill E. Palmer, a Navy Veteran, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and 2019 graduate of the Doctor of Social Work program at the University of Tennessee, serves as Endeavors’ Corporate Behavioral Health Officer.  With her research focus on Veterans, suicide prevention, and quality of life, Dr. Palmer has spearheaded the implementation of the Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center. A state of the art facility in San Antonio, Texas, the Veteran Wellness Center utilizes Dr. Palmer’s expertise by focusing on the integration of mental health, physical health, and recovery services built upon a foundation of wellness principles. 

Dr. Palmer has over a decade of leadership experience through both the Navy and the private sector.  Passionate about leading healthy, productive, and innovative teams, she has led teams of social workers, psychiatrists, and other medical and mental health personnel, provided program oversight for multiple programs, developed policies and procedures to implement evidence-based practices, and has managed program budgets.

Dr. Palmer’s background in mental health delivery, along with her experience with diverse teams and virtual work environments, allowed for a 100% transition to remote work and telehealth services to over 400 active clients at the Cohen Clinics in March, 2020.  She also provided the research and the structure to the implementation of the Virtual Employee Wellness program at Endeavors, an initiative that provided daily wellness activities to over 350 employees for 13 months during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With over 18 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, Dr. Palmer is experienced in treating trauma, depression, and anxiety in children, families, Veterans, and active-duty populations.

Laura completed her Master’s program in 2013 after an internship at the VA Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. She worked for three years as a Readjustment Counseling Therapist for the Columbus, Ohio Vet Center, specializing in trauma treatment for combat veterans and those who had experienced military sexual trauma. Laura relocated with her wife, Judith, to San Antonio in 2016 and took a position as a licensed professional mental health counselor at the Audie Murphy VA, where she was a member of the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy team for South Texas, served as the Women’s Mental Health Coordinator, and was on the LGBTQ+ advisory committee. She became an LPC Supervisor in 2020 and worked with LPC Interns and Associates within the South Texas VA’s training programs. Before leaving federal employment, she was a team lead and clinic manager for one of the VA’s Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Programs. Laura joined The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors in September 2022 and was promoted to Supervising Clinician in November 2022.

Laura has facilitated several groups, including CBT-Depression, CBT-PTSD, Coping with Military Sexual Trauma, and DBT Skills Group. She also has specialized training in Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Imagery Rehearsal Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and CBT for Chronic Pain.

Prior to finding her calling in the counseling field, Laura served as an Arabic Linguist in the U.S. Air Force, completing three tours in the Middle East. She now enjoys trail running, rock climbing, hiking, and playing with her two French Bulldogs.

As the Director of Wellness, Kimberly Anderson acts as an advocate for wellness throughout the Endeavors organization. As a key part of her position, Kimberly helps to develop the Endeavors Wellness program both internally and for clients, equipping people with tools to enhance their own personal wellness. Additionally, Kimberly oversees all aspects of wellness for the Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center and facilitates three internal wellness events each week for Endeavors employees.
Kimberly entered into a career in public health and wellness well into her adult life. A spouse to a disabled veteran and the mother of a special needs child, she saw the need for education and advocacy in our healthcare system firsthand. Working on the development of the Veteran Wellness Center for over a year, and in her role since July 2020, Kimberly has a passion for wellness and for learning the best ways to stay healthy and heal difficult to treat conditions.
Kimberly holds a Bachelors Degree of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Disease Control from UTSA and a financial wellness trainer certification from NWI. Additionally, she teaches Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as tapping) I 9.
In her spare time, Kimberly serves as president San Antonio PFLAG chapter. She also loves to read, spend time her friends, and enjoy the company of her husband of 23 years and their three children.

Angel Tree

The Endeavors Angel Tree program will assist in fulfilling holiday wishes for many of our San Antonio clients that we serve. Our Community Based Services programs provide supportive housing, case management, professional counseling, life skills training, and employment opportunities for chronically homeless adults with disabilities and their children throughout Texas. Assessment Services

As Texas home study contractors, our experienced and highly-qualified professionals home study reports that can be used for domestic adoptions or foster care decisions. With your support, we’ll be able to continue to ensure a knowledgeable and justified decision is made regarding a child in need of a safe and nurturing home.

Cohen Clinic – El Paso

The Cohen Clinics at Endeavors offer services provided by credentialed staff trained to work specifically with the military population. Veterans, active duty service members (with a TRICARE referral), and military families can receive mental health care individually and together in the same place, at the same time, with the same treatment team.

Case management support and local referrals to help with education, employment, financial assistance, housing, and legal issues are also available via the Cohen Clinics.

We believe that communities are only as strong as the way they care for their most vulnerable populations. Across the country and the world, this often means caring for those with no place to call “home.” We are incredibly passionate about empowering people to build better lives for themselves.

Disaster Case Management

By providing disaster relief services for clients impacted by crisis and/ or presidentially declared disasters, we deliver relief, recovery, and hope. With the help of your donation, we’ll be able to continue creating safe environments, providing resource referrals, and helping individuals most impacted by a disaster to get back on their feet.

Emergency Services

Make a difference for individuals with nowhere to turn after a disaster. Your donation will help families struggling after hurricanes and other natural disasters get back on their feet and rebuild a life of safety and hope.

Endeavors Unlimited

Providing supportive employment training and accommodated employment for adults with disabilities, Endeavors Unlimited provides more than a job- it provides life-changing opportunity.  By choosing to donate to Endeavors Unlimited, you’re assisting us to continue to train these deserving individuals and then place them in positions that may have otherwise not been available.

Home Study & Report Services

Permanent Supportive Housing

Assisting those who suffer from homelessness, the Endeavors Permanent Supportive Housing Program provides sustainable housing alongside access to mental health resources, education, and job training to chronically homeless, low-income individuals with disabling conditions throughout Bexar County.

By making a monetary or tangible donation, you are helping us ensure that these individuals receive long-term collaborative treatment, supportive housing, and the supplies necessary to address basic needs such as food, clothing, and medical care.

Rapid Deployment Services

When crisis calls, seconds count. Through our Rapid Deployment Services and Temporary Shelter Operation programs, we are able to respond quickly, supplying what is needed in the event of a disaster or crisis. From emergency shelter setup and operation to case management and intake services, donating to our Rapid Deployment Services will ensure that more people are taken care as quickly as possible when disaster strikes.

With a goal to provide permanent supportive housing to our most vulnerable populations, we offer case management, professional counseling, life skills training, and employment opportunities for Veterans as well as those suffering from mental illnesses. By donating to our housing program, you are giving these community members the chance to achieve a life full of stability, successes, and self-sufficiency.

Veteran and Family Support

Our Veteran Supportive Services Program rapidly re-houses and prevents homelessness among very low-income Veterans and their families by providing homelessness prevention and stabilization services, one on one case management, and assistance in obtaining VA and other public benefits. Through your donations, you’ll help us to restore dignity and offer hope to Veterans in need.
