For more than 55 years, Endeavors has remained steadfast in its mission to serve those in need, guided by compassion, integrity, accountability, community, and faith. Founded by five Christian churches in Texas, our work has always centered on serving vulnerable populations and communities during moments of greatest need.
During the unprecedented migrant surge along the Southwest border in 2021, Endeavors was among at least 15 organizations called upon by the federal government to rapidly expand emergency shelter capacity. We are proud to have supported the care and placement of more than 40,000 vulnerable children during this period, with the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of each child at the center of every decision made.
At the request of the Administration for Children and Families, Endeavors mobilized to operationalize an Emergency Intake Shelter in Pecos, Texas. This work was built upon more than a decade of our experience supporting migrant children under federal programs and protocols across multiple administrations. The 2021 response required rapid facility preparation, specialized medical and behavioral health staffing and equipment, increased pandemic safety protocols, and robust security and infrastructure systems, all executed under continuous federal oversight. Endeavors fulfilled the scope of care and services outlined in our contract, while determinations regarding contract structure, type, activation, and facility utilization remained solely at the direction of the federal government.
While Endeavors was not interviewed as part of the Office of Inspector General’s review, our track record reflects the strength of our operations and the quality of care provided. In subsequent competitive federal procurements, Endeavors has been selected for award based on technical capability, past performance, cost factors, and best-value determinations.
Our mission remains unchanged. For more than five decades, Endeavors has served veterans, first responders, disaster survivors, families experiencing homelessness, and children in crisis. Grounded in our faith-based mission and guided by a commitment to serve wherever the need is greatest, we remain dedicated to meeting communities in their most critical moments with care, professionalism, and compassion.
