Our hospital sitters provide services to children in the custody of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) who are hospitalized and do not have family or staff to be with them in the hospital. Our sitter is with the child to provide them with company and reassurance, but also to document the care and treatment he/she is receiving, and serve as a liaison between the medical staff and DFPS. A DFPS case worker may authorize this service when a child is in the hospital for extensive amounts of time or needs a sitter and neither the case worker nor the foster parents are available.
This is an on-call, pool position based on the needs of children in DFPS custody. If immediate care is needed for a child in DFPS custody, please reach out to the child’s case worker to request our hospital sitting services.
